Lilly’s Pledge
In Memory of Lilly Nguyen
(June 17 1994 - November 30 2020)
Who was Lilly?
Lilly was an incredible young woman who suffered with major depression and when the pandemic hit in 2020 her depression became worse. Unfortunately when she went for care at her local hospital she was turned away and put on a waiting list. Lilly could not wait for care. She was in a crisis. On November 30, 2020 Lilly was lost to us. We have created Lilly’s pledge in her honor and memory as a reminder to all of those who enter the Ketamine and psychedelic space that this space is about saving lives. It’s not about politics or making millions upon millions of dollars but it’s about the people who can be helped and saved. Let’s never lose sight of that.
Take the pledge
I pledge to remain an upstanding member of the ketamine and psychedelic communities and to be honest and fair in my work with ketamine and other psychedelic therapies. I recognize that these medicines have life-saving potential and should be available to all who need them and will work to help make them affordable to all. I understand these medications have the potential to stop a mental health crisis in its tracks. I understand that those experiencing crises are seeking help, not patronization. I understand they may also downplay what they are experiencing. I will do my best to educate myself on the signs and symptoms of depression and other mental and physical conditions that might cause one to seek treatment with psychedelic medication and related therapies. I will treat each patient with empathy and understand that not every medical condition will manifest with visible symptoms. I acknowledge that I must do the utmost to educate myself about the side effects of ketamine and related therapies by remaining current on the newest findings. I also understand the need to educate myself on the addiction potential of these medications and will make sure that patients understand the need for safe use and if taking at home to only take as prescribed.
We have all taken the pledge
