For our Veterans
Ketamine Taskforce Veteran’s Initiatives:
Approximately every 32 minutes another veteran completes a suicide.
That means that every day there are 44 preventable casualties, over DOUBLE the previous known rate. This is according to new research by America’s Warrior Partnership in collaboration with the University of Alabama and Duke University which can be found here.
Unfortunately, far too many Veterans do not yet have affordable access to Ketamine Assisted Therapy. Veterans experience complex trauma, and research has shown that ketamine is very safe and able to treat mental health and chronic pain conditions, drastically lowering suicidal intentions within 24 hours. With access to treatments like ketamine, Veterans might not feel like they are out of options and compelled to take their own life. After honorably serving the United States of America, this is an unacceptable outcome that we know the VA is working diligently to improve.
Veterans Ketamine Retreats
The Taskforce will be referring veterans dealing with PTSD and Major Depressive Disorder (MDD) to the new Healing Our Heroes Foundation to participate in Ketamine Retreats. They plan to build a brand new beautiful retreat center in South Florida. Until then we will be referring to different doctors, Nurse Practitioners, CRNAs, and retreat centers around the country that hold retreats.
Ketamine Docu-series:
Women Veterans are the most under recognized veterans of all veterans. The Ketamine Taskforce is working to change that. The Ketamine Taskforce is going to be filming a 6 part docu-series about Women Veterans, The Forgotten Veterans. We will be telling the story of these brave women and the battles they have fought overseas and still continue to fight today. We will also be telling the story of how many of these women have been treated with Ketamine for their PTSD, Major Depression, and Chronic Pain and how it has saved their lives. We will also be telling the story of the research and the fight to get Ketamine approved by the VA and insurance companies to treat women and other veterans. Ketamine and its ability to quickly reduce suicidal ideation within 24 hours can save a veteran’s life. Every veteran should have access to this life saving medicine.
The Taskforce is looking to raise $600,000 to make this docu-series.
We need your help to make this happen!
We would like to thank all of our donors who helped us send a group of veterans on an Inaugural retreat in May 2023 with Better U. We want to acknowledge a few special donors whom without their help we would not have been able to hold our very first retreat.

The Ketamine Taskforce has also created a veterans cohort, of a small group of veterans from each branch of the military. This group meets monthly to talk about shared experiences in the military over zoom with a facilitator. This team is also working on ways to save Veterans who are not being helped by the current accessible treatments either through the VA or privately. If you are a veteran who would like to join the cohort please reach out to us through the contact page. (We also welcome first responders to our cohort.)
